Many medical doctors have been studying different ways of approaching the causes of disease and healing. Richard Gerber author of Vibrational Medicine: New Choices for Healing Ourselves was one of the first medical doctors to observe and chart the future directions of energy medicine. “The vibrational practitioners influence the individual’s consciousness, helping them gain insight into the factors predisposing toward the creation of their illness, or why the illness crystallized at this time in their life.”

In the forward to Michael Katz’s book, Gemstone Energy Medicine,Rashid Buttar, D.O., states his firm belief that the “Energy medicine will certainly be a major constituent of the medicine of the future” He also reminds us that the recognition and application of energy in healing work can be documented as going back at least 5,000 years, if not more.  Eastern cultures have a long history and knowledge of the energetic pathways of the body. Our occidental culture, after having lost this ability to approach the patient in a holistic way and to consider other forms of healing, is at last starting to consider there is more than science and that we cannot ognore the power of the mind.

As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss, M.D. spent years in the disciplined study of the human psychology, training his mind to think as a scientist and a physician. He held steadfastly to conservatism in his profession, distrusting anything that could not be proved by traditional scientific method. Many Lives, Many Masters is the true story  his young patient, and the past-life therapy that changed both their lives. An experience which jolted him out of his conventional ways of thought and psychiatry as for the first time, he came face-to-face with the concept of reincarnation.

In his book Richard Gerber  states “What I have discovered is that the most powerful healing force in the universe is love, unconditional love. When you work from that level you begin to open up whole vistas of discovery in self-exploration and spiritual transformation. You begin a new level of healing, not just fixing the body, but helping the individual to grow to a whole new understanding of their life and their awareness as an evolving spiritual being.”

Extraordinary Knowing: Science, Skepticism, and the Inexplicable Powers of the Human Mind written by Elizabeth Lloyd Mayer, an internationally-known psychoanalyst, shaken by a personal experience also breaks through the silence imposed by fear and explores what science has to say about countless “inexplicable” phenomena. From remote viewing to the healing power of meditation, Dr. Mayer explores and studies a wealth of credible and fascinating research into the realm where the mind seems to trump the laws of nature.

Buttar also observes “Research indicates that specific fields of energy enhance the immune system, evidenced by increased DNA synthesis in lymphocytes. Patients have reported many benefits during and after their experiences of using various forms of energy healing, including having an increased sense of wellbeing, more energy, better sleep, and improved pain control.”
